Hello World!
If you've been coding almost all of your adult life, you'd know that the first program any language you pick up gets you to write is the infamous Hello World program.
So, here goes nothing.
I've been told (very kindly) by Lay Theng that I write well and should therefore set up a blog so the good people back home could keep up with the mischief, crap, nonsense, rubbish I get up to in Melbourne. I choose to think, I am good at bull-shitting (an essential in interviews, mind you), thus the idea that I'm somewhat good in writing.
A little bit about yours truly since, like it or not, you're probably stuck with me for the rest of this journey.
A self-confessed makeup junkie. Package something pretty and slap on a hefty price, I'll willingly swipe the plastic.
A perfume aficionado in the making, moving to Melbourne has given the opportunity to hone my note-differentiating skills. My nose so far, has been subjected to the highly-coveted Hermes Kelly Caleche (love, love, love!), Sarah Jessica Parker Covet (way too hot in the summer for a fruity-oriental, darling!) and Christina Aguilera's I-have-no-idea-the-name-of-her-scent (eww.. yuck, I feel like a walking candy store wearing the scent!)
An optimist, cynic and in other words, a walking contradiction all rolled into one. I like to think I'm different. I work hard to set myself apart from the crowd, training my mind to think beyond the scope that's in front of me. I am optimistic when everything else seems hopeless because I find my hope in Him and not in humans. I am a cynic when it comes to politics. Yes, election's just round the corner, who should I go for?
I read. Rather voraciously. The Stonnington Council Library is my new best friend. My favourites are murder, crime, mystery and whodunnits. I love James Patterson, Agatha Christie and a childhood favourite: Enid Blyton.
I'm a self-confessed pirate. I love nothing more than pirating tv series a couple of hours after it's been aired in the US of A.
I am a huge advocate of open source codes. If I'm ever good enough to contribute to the open community of Linux, I would have long ago. But really, most of the time, I just can't be arsed to trawl through someone else's codes.
I care a lot about the environment and do my best to use natural products to clean the house and do my best to recycle.
I dislike kids. They're mainly crying, pooping and yelling machines. I don't mind playing with friends' kids until they start crying, pooping or yelling, then I hand them back very gladly.
I love Melbourne.
I love the fact that I'm finally home.
